How much will I get for my car? -Why are prices so low now

The amount that junk car buyers are willing to pay for a vehicle depends on several factors.

Unfortunately the price for scrap weight right now is down. We are hoping to see it rise again by the end of the year but there is no telling where it is going to be.

Also take into consideration that some Junk Car removal companies are usually a better option then some random "scrapper" due to the fact they hold onto the vehicles. Most side hustle scrapper's generally take the vehicles straight to the scrap yard the same day. So the prices may vary from day to day.

It’s worth noting that scrap prices can fluctuate over time, so what may seem low at a particular moment might be influenced by the market conditions at that time.

Here are a few reasons why they may offer relatively low prices for your junk car:

1. Salvage value:

Junk car buyers often assess the salvage value of a vehicle, which is primarily based on its weight and the value of its scrap metal. If your car is old, damaged, or inoperable, its salvage value may be low, resulting in a lower offer. This is not always the case.

2. Cost of towing and processing:

Junk car buyers typically cover the cost of towing the vehicle and processing it for salvage or recycling. These expenses are factored into the overall value they assign to the car.

3. Market demand:

The demand for specific types of vehicles and their parts can fluctuate. If there is low demand for the make and model of your junk car, it can affect the price offered.

4. Operational costs and profit margin:

Junk car buyers are running a business, and they need to cover their operational costs while making a profit. This can impact the amount they are willing to pay for your vehicle.

5. Condition and completeness:

The condition of your junk car and whether it is missing essential components can affect its value. Cars that are in better condition or have more salvageable parts may fetch higher offers.

It's worth noting that the prices offered by different junk car buyers can vary. Some "scrappers" who purchase cars and take them to a junk yard aren't always reliable and they can't offer as much.
